Brown Bat

Nocturnal Insectaviors
mole
This is Tennessee's most common bat. Bats are seen flying around at night catching insects. They navigate by radar, bats emit sounds (squeaks) that bounce off objects and return back them. This enables them to fly at night without injury. Bats normally roost where it is dark and dry. Warehouses, chimneys and attics are common places where you may encounter bats. Bats carry rabies and should be avoided at all cost.
